Prior to dealing with the kundalini energy and its ascending through the seven chakras, let us have a look at the 3 principal nadis or energy lines that can be discovered in the delicate vital body that is frequently named etheric body. In reality there's a vast amount of energy transmission channels through which the energy of the etheric aura flows but 3 of them are crucial. Those are sushumna nadi, ida nadi and pingala nadi. The knowledge of the kundalini yoga is associated to the most crucial channel or pathway - the Sushumna mental energy stream, and less to the ida and pingala. The energy which runs through these psychical pathways is often called Prana.
To be exact, the kundalini yoga chakras are the typical 7 chakras which, if clean and organized, can act positively on the process of advancing the kundalini energy along the backbone. Essentially, the kundalini yoga is "energy yoga", signifying that we ought to control the vital force and subtle energy, which is the Kundalini. The ida and pingala nadis are going up in a helical way, intersecting the spine at a few points, whereas the sushumna channel goes directly up.
All 3 energy pathways start at the base or kundalini awakening chakra, and converge once again in the Manipura abdominal nerve plexus chakra, then once more they cross the throat chakra or Vishudha, and in the end they meet in the Sahasrara area or top chakra.
The Sushumna is the chief psychic stream; it is of pale-yellow color; it goes along the spinal cord, from the first to the seventh chakra. This is in reality the channel of Kundalini energy, which is sleeping and is inactive in an ordinary individual. Once awaken, this energy should advance passing through the seven kundalini yoga chakras.
The pingala nadi is blue; its nature is of yang energy; it is a channel that conveys rational and mental energy. The Pingala runs upwards, and the flow ends at the right body side on the top of the head. Ida is pink; its nature is of feminine yin energy; it is more emotionally pointed. The ida channel flows downwards and ends at the left side of the body.
The primary seven kundalini yoga chakras are situated at seven spirit levels. Five of the yoga chakras are paired, and two are unpaired implying that they've no back end. The undivided chakras are the first and the seventh energy centers. They are oriented in opposite directions. The Sahasrara chakra aims up, while the Muladhara chakra down. A proper way to consider the 7 chakras is by grouping them in three special groups or centers. Hence we talk of a group of will, feelings and reasoning and we can notice that indeed willing, feeling and intellectual capacity are the most important manifestation of each individual life.
To the mental or rational center we can correlate the Sahasrara chakra - 7th chakra - and the front side and back end of the third eye ajna - 6th chakra. To the feeling or emotional center we can ascribe the front part of the Vishudha, Anahata, Manipura and Svadhisthana (the 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd chakras). The will center is located at the rear part of the body, encompassing the rear side of Vishudha, Anahata, Manipura and Swadhisthana plus the Muladhara chakra which points downwards. It is very important to know which chakras are responsible for which kind of manifestation in our own microcosm. In this way we can control our manifestation and direct our lives more effectively.
In this article we have given an introduction into the kundalini yoga chakras. We have also considered the three most significant energy channels or nadis. All this knowledge is a basis for prepare ourselves to be able to address issues regarding the kundalini awakening. The kundalini awakening should be arranged only after the chakras and the three nadis have been purified to a certain level, so that they are able to reflect only positive qualities, without any hindering negative influences.
