If you happen to have your HOLIDAY VILLAS IN COSTA DEL SOL then you are ideally situated to visit one of the main attractions, Benalmadena Sea Life centre right next door to the Marina. Its an ideal place for those that have an inherent fear of swimming in the sea or ocean or if you ever wanted to scuba dive and never had the chance. Also the greatest and probably the most valuable thing about sea life centres is that they can display so many different species from all over the world. And if they are like the Benalmadena Sea Life Centre then you will have a chance to walk through, touch and even learn about them all, without ever getting wet.
You'll see creatures that live so deep you couldn't scuba dive to meet with them; others you would need a cage to be able to get as close as you can here for protection. And you can do all this without having to get wet. One of the first tanks that you arrive at is the one containing the stingrays you can buy food from the shop and even feed these beautiful birds of the sea. Watch them as they glide around the tank and as they pass where youre standing even stroke them on the back: feel the soft almost hairy skin as it slips under your fingers and if you happen to be holding something in your hand let them nibble delicately out of your hand. As you wander from tank to tank everything is signposted the type of fish where it came from its Latin name, where you can learn so much from each visit. Take a look at the starfish tank with hermit crabs wondering the bottom, See how many you can count or even ask one of the staff if you can get a closer inspection; the staff here always at hand friendly and informative.
As well as common species that we all know there are even stranger creatures and also the more dangerous mammals of the sea. You can walk the tunnel a specially made walk way made of glass so that you can see the sharks almost as if you were in the water with them watch as they swim past or other your head. So close to being in the middle of the ocean you wonder why youre not wet. There are also plenty of games for the children we all know the best learning environment for them is a fun and happy one, so take them to the Songs of the Sea room where they have to match the various sounds with the fish that makes them. And once you have been through the centre there is a restaurant with a large play room for the kids. A well stocked shop where you can purchase mementoes and if youre feeling adventurous there is always the underwater simulator.
The centre is an excellent resourceful learning centre for young and old; it also plays an active role in conservation and they have their own breeding program which often releases fish in order to secure a future of some of Earth's most valuable creatures. So if you have nothing on your agenda the week youre in your HOLIDAY VILLAS IN COSTA DEL SOL maybe you should make a note to visit.
